World Premiere at the World Cafe Live on November 6th!

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the wonderful feeling of fall that comes around this time of year.

I’m very excited to let you all know about a World Premiere performance of a new work of mine happening Thursday, November 6th at 7:30pm Downstairs at The World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.

The piece – entitled “My Love” – was commissioned by the amazing Philadelphia based organization called LiveConnections.  It’s part of a series of three separate commissions for three composers from different backgrounds and my background is….rock!  – but you knew that already! 😉

I’m very proud of how the piece came together and can’t wait for the world to hear it!  Especially since the ensemble giving the premiere – The Aizuri String Quartet – is one of the most talented, accomplished, and capable group of musicians I’ve ever come across.  They are currently in residence at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music and I’m beyond thrilled to have them present the premiere performance of my work.

I had the pleasure of writing some music for The Aizuri Quartet to accompany a poem by the wonderful poet Denice Frohman and here is a video of the end result –

There will be performances of a number of wonderful pieces of music that evening and a performance by Denice Frohman.  You can purchase tickets by visiting the World Cafe Live website, and it would mean the world to me to see you at the show.

I was lucky enough to have the Aizuri Quartet in my studio a few weeks ago to record a song that fits inside the new work…kind of like a “single” from the piece…it’s hard to describe, but I promise it will all make sense if you join us on November 6th.

Here is the song…it’s called

“Let Me”
