Hope you are all well! My apologies to any of you who made the trip to see the Azrael Quartet and I at our last two outdoor performances…both of which were cut short due to various environmental factors. At blocktoberfest we played two songs – happy birthday and Eleanor Rigby – and then the rains came. And in Suburban Square old man winter decided to visit Fall and although the always courageous and adventurous Azrael Quartet did their best to play the many 16th notes I tend to write while braving 40 degree weather, there was only so much they could do before numbness set in.
BUT!….I’m pleased to say the next three performances I have are all INDOORS!! which is great.
I’ll be playing a few songs written by Philadelphia based songwriters I admire as part of this year’s Philly Sings Philly shows. I’ll be performing Tuesday 11/26 and the concerts take place at The Fire. You can get more info here.
On Friday 12/13 I’ll be joining the wonderful Sharon Little and Lily Mae at the Sellersville Theater for a solo acoustic performance as part of their local connections series. You can get more info and buy tickets here.
On Saturday 11/30 I’ll be joining an army of fantastic Philadelphia artists form many different scenes as we come together to recreate the iconic rock film The Last Waltz as a benefit for Philadelphia school children. I’m producing this show with some good friends of mine and the inimitable guitarist and songwriter Kevin Hanson and I are leading the all star band. And as if all the amazing Philadelphia guest artists weren’t enough…Garth Hudson – founding member of The Band – will be joining us for a special ticketed VIP pre-show meet and greet and will be performing a few songs with us during the show. Here’s some more info on the show….and here’s where you can get tickets.
If you haven’t made plans for the weekend after thanksgiving….well….I’m hoping you just did!
See you there!
